North of Khyber
- NORTH OF KHYBER - A black ink and black color pencil drawing on an 11 x 14 size coquille board. It appears on the cover of a fan booklet edited and produced by Robert Price under his "Cryptic Publications" imprint,
The Robert Price booklets featured newly discovered writings by Robert E. Howard. The covers I did for the booklets were fun to do because they gave me a chance to design the entire layout of the cover, including the lettering. They were simple enough to do but very satisfying.
When Price first asked me to do a cover drawing for him he did not ask that I also do the lettering. But the drawings that I did were not very complicated and took so very little time, I decided to design the entire cover including the lettering in order to earn the money I received for doing them. I'm sure Bob appreciated my doing that because it saved him the time and effort of doing it himself.
